MMPS 15th Anniversary

MOGGERHANGER MEETING PLACE AND SHOP

15th ANNIVERSARY – 30 July 2015

On Thursday, July 30 volunteers and friends met to celebrate the 15th anniversary of MMPS. The party was a bring-and-share lunch held in the garden of Jane and Ron in Bedford Road.

When the idea of a community meeting place and shop was conceived all those years ago, one of the prime movers was Betty Barrance who was responsible for getting substantial funding for the project. Betty made a short speech and cut the birthday cake which had been specially baked for the occasion by Jo Hollington. Jo was unable to be present at the lunch but sent a message saying how several of the volunteers who had helped to run the shop in the beginning were still active today! Many thanks to Jane and Ron for hosting the party.

Moggerhanger Meeting Place and Shop is open daily from 10 a.m. until 12 noon in the vestry of St John’s Church. It is run entirely by volunteers from the village and is a valuable community asset. If you would like to become involved, please get in touch with our volunteer coordinators Eileen on 01767 640039 or Jane on 01767 641501.
