MOGGERHANGER MEETING PLACE – WALKING GROUP
Our first informal walk took place on Thursday 18 January. A group of 12 met at St John’s church at 10 am on a bright and sunny morning. We headed for Moggerhanger Park and were lucky enough to see the snowdrops flowering in abundance. On return to the church for a welcome cup of coffee, we discovered we had walked 2.16 miles. Chris has mapped it on Google Earth and the plan is attached together with a couple of pictures of the walkers as they were ready to set off.
As everyone enjoyed this experiment, we hope that we can organise more walks in the future in the village and local area, probably once a month. If anyone would like to lead one, please contact Jo Hollington (641184) or Dorothy Bashford (640242).
To start the ball rolling, the next walk will be to Danish Camp and on the footpaths round Willington Village on Thursday 22 February. Please meet at the church (the car park will be open) at 9.45 and we will share cars to Willington. We plan to return to the church for coffee after about an hour’s walk. This walk will be coordinated by Jo.
In March, assuming that the fields will have dried out a little, Dorothy & Chris will take the group on footpaths round the Blunham end of the village. Please see the village magazine for more details.
