MOGGERHANGER SUPPORT GROUP

MOGGERHANGER SUPPORT GROUP

HOW WE CAN HELP

In these difficult times, wouldn’t it be good to know that even if you are stuck at home, there is someone available locally for a friendly phone call or to do the odd errand for you, like shopping or getting a prescription

There is no need to be afraid or anxious or feel that you’re on your own. There are many of us in the community who are here for you if you need us and we’re happy to help.

If you are self-isolating, you probably already have friends or family that you can rely on. But if you don’t have anyone local, we will find someone in the village who can help. You may already know them slightly, so they are at least a familiar face.

Equally, if you live in the village, are not in any of the vulnerable categories and are well, perhaps you would like to be able to help someone in self-isolation. After all, even if you are well today, you may find yourself in self-isolation next week.

The Moggerhanger Support Group will coordinate between people in self-isolation and volunteers in the village. All we ask at the moment is some information about your contact details and situation, so that we can contact you in future, or, if you contact us, we have your details to hand. We need your specific permission to comply with data protection laws.

Our next task is to decide what volunteers are and are not allowed to do for self-isolators, which we will tell you about in detail once we have your permission to contact you.

Whether you are self-isolating, volunteering or even just interested in keeping in touch, please either complete the consent form (Click Here) and return it to one of the addresses on the form, or send the same information to our email address below, also saying you give your consent.

As we get more information, it will be published on www.moggerhanger.uk/village and on the Moggerhanger and Around Facebook page. If you have any questions or urgent needs, phone or text us on 07538 257632 or email us at MSG@moggerhanger.uk.

Keep well,
Vicky Millard and Ken Ebbage (Initial Coordinators)

Moggerhanger Support Group is a local initiative, supported by the Parish Council and trustees of the Village Hall. It is coordinated through St John’s Church, Moggerhanger.

LATEST NEWS

We will be posting to those who have registered with this support group items of information useful to residents in the village.

This is really just to let you know that you are on it. We have about 50 addresses so far and more to add in the next few days.

If anyone does not want to receive email messages, then please let Ken Ebbage know and he will remove you under the Data Protection rules.

We will be proposing some ways forward here in the next few days and we are linking with other similar groups in the surrounding villages.

In the meantime, take this opportunity to get to know your neighbours and suggest that they might want to return their information form. The link is on this page if you need more.
If you have offered to be a volunteer, you may want to register yourself on the NHS volunteer site as well. I am sure we will be working with them.

Keep safe,
Ken
