100+ Club Social Evening
Saturday, April 2 saw the first of our 100+ Club social evening events. The evening was a resounding success, with no fixed entertainment but an opportunity for folk to sit and chat and catch up. New people to the village were able to meet and talk to some of our ‘old timers’ and even folk well established said they had a chance to meet and talk to people they had not met before.
Attendees were asked to complete a survey about the types of fund raising events they would like to attend. There were a few comments about ‘ having already completed the census’ but all took part in good spirit. All completed entries were placed in a draw for a bottle of bubbly. Our Winner was Mrs Doreen Reid. Other parishioners will be approached to participate in the survey and the results will be shared with all.
The April draw was held and our winners were Mrs Lorna Harvey, Mr Doug Elford and Mrs Jean Mead. There was an extra draw, a pre summer special, which was won by Mrs Sharon Rainsbury. There were many raffle prizes thanks to everyone who so generously donated prizes. This event was intended as a thank you to our 100+ club members for their support and not as a fund raising event, however, with folks generous donations and at least a trees worth of raffle tickets sold we were able to add £333.43 to Village Hall Funds.
A big thank you to everyone who came to support us, thanks also to all those unsung heroes behind the scenes who’s efforts with catering etc are very much appreciated.
May draw will take place at the Church coffee morning May 3rd.
