Grand Open Day – April 13, 2013
Saturday April 13th saw the celebration following the completion of our 2012 Improvement Project. The doors opened at 3.30pm with a celebratory drink and a few nibbles. There was a display on our new notice board in the main hall detailing all the changes. This is now posted on our website.
Mr Gareth Thomas from WREN attended and was very complementary on both the quality of our application and the work carried out. WREN is a not for profit business that awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK from funds donated by Waste Recycling Group (WRG) to the Landfill Communities Fund.
Sue Norman from BRCC (Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity) also attended. Sue was instrumental in pointing us towards WREN as a suitable supporter for our project.
Whilst many folk were away we still had a turnout of around 50 people with plenty of opportunity to chat. A very big thank-you to Jackie, Coral, Jan & Taff, Jo & Stewart and Tim for helping setup and providing refreshment for all.
