Moggerhanger has been traced back to 1216 and has been known over the centuries by many different names including Mogahangr, Moukerhangre, Morehanger, Mugerhanger and Mogerhanger.
Work will start soon on a brief history of Moggerhanger. As time permits we will add more and more on the history of Moggerhanger and Chalton. In the meantime enjoy the old photos using the menu link above.

Found a postcard of Muggerhanger post office – on eBay. My research indicates it dates between 1900 and 1918 from its size (introduced in 1900) and postage price (increased t0 1d in June 1918). Would love to find out more about where the cottage with post box was located and who the man outside could be.
